SmartFlower
Meet Daisy, our SmartFlower!
Named after Girl Scouts’ Founder, Juliette Gordon Low, whose nickname was Daisy, our SmartFlower uses advanced robotics and automation to track the sun, making up to 40% more energy than traditional stationary solar panels.
This installation is part of our Council’s promise to the environment, promoting initiatives that contribute to sustainability, efficient use of energy, and reduced electrical consumption.
Daisy was dedicated during a ceremony at her home, A Place for Girls, on October 2, 2023.

Included in these lesson plans are fun activities you can do with your Girl Scout(s) to learn more about Daisy the SmartFlower, resources, energy, the sun, and making observations. Many of these activities count towards earning various Girl Scout badges, too! If you visit A Place for Girls, be sure to stop by the lobby to view Daisy’s real-time energy output data on a special monitor!
