GSSEM is proud to announce a new partnership with ABB, a leading global technology company!
ABB focuses on electrification, robotics, automation, and motion. Much like our Girl Scouts, ABB works to provide safe, smart, and sustainable solutions to build a better future.
ABB has graciously offered to provide ongoing support to GSSEM through events, robotics team mentorship, and so much more! By collaborating with Girl Scouts to spark girls' interest in STEM, ABB helps girls become better problem solvers, critical thinkers, and more effective leaders.
ABB kicked off the new partnership with an excellent, engaging virtual event during GSSEM's Spirit Week 2020. Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes were invited to learn about exciting careers in STEM fields with the women of ABB while earning the brand new STEM Career Exploration badges. The groups then split to participate in hands-on physics activities; Brownies and Juniors created catapults, and Cadettes built bridges from pencils and rubber bands. 84% of attending girls reported being more interested in learning about more STEM careers after the program, and 92% of attendees reported that they learned something new about STEM careers.
