Become a Volunteer
Ever want to forget everybody else’s expectations and just…be you? When you volunteer with Girl Scouts, you’ll be creating a community where being your unfiltered, goofiest, most authentic self is the absolute best thing you can be.
You’ll be showing the next generation that what makes them unique also makes them powerful, and that everyone has a lot more fun when no one has to worry about being judged.
This sense of belonging and community of forever friends gives Girl Scouts the courage to try new things, test their limits, and work toward goals as a team. It’s what drives them to explore their communities, help others, and solve problems. It’s what helps them speak up for what’s right and feel proud of who they are.
When they’re having fun, there’s no limit to what Girl Scouts can do.
You don’t have to have a kid of your own to get involved, you simply have to care. Your local council can help get you started.
Groups of Girl Scouts are called troops. Find out what makes them special & how you can build one with the help of your local council.
READ MORETroop volunteers help Girl Scouts become stronger, kinder, and braver than they ever thought possible. Troop leaders—and volunteers in other roles, like troop money manager or cookie chair—engage regularly with their Girl Scouts and guide them through activities, like earning badges, exploring the outdoors, or running their own business through the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
Service unit volunteers are the network of support throughout your community. They empower troop leaders and troop volunteers to be the role models that Girl Scouts need and connect them with the resources for unforgettable troop experiences.
If you want to get a snapshot of troop life, you can find short-term volunteer opportunities—both in-person and virtual—and support local Girl Scouts as they pursue their passions.
The best part? There’s no one “type” of volunteer. If you believe that Girl Scouts can change the world, you belong here. Find your local council and see how you can make the most impact.
